Yasmin Devji is licensed with the Acupuncturists of British Columbia and is a graduate of the 5 year Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program. Yasmin has studied under Master Wu from Guandong, China, who mentored her in advanced needle techniques for 2 years. Currently she continues to mentor under Doctor Tai, a classical acupuncturist. She is certified by the National Acupuncturists Detoxification Association (NADA) as a detoxification specialist and is an energy healer.

Yasmin enjoys specializing in clients with arthritis, anxiety, back pain, depression, digestive problems, insomnia, numbness, stress, healing habits and others. Yasmin customizes each treatment according to the needs of her clients, as she is able to incorporate other holistic medicines and techniques: Ohm Theraputics, aromatic acupoint application, and Ayurvedic meditation, to help clients achieve the health results that they desire.

She has volunteered her services to help people with health challenges and addictions, because she has a strong desire to help people in need that normally do not have access to alternative medicines. On a personal note, Yasmin enjoys going for long hikes with her dogs. Yasmin has a strong passion for helping not only humans, but also animals and contributes a portion of the funds collected from treatments to various animal organizations, such as the SPCA.

Yasmin has a strong repeat client base due to personable and caring nature. She is currently accepting new clients. Her ability to help people heal has been recognized not only by her mentors, but also her clients.

Acupuncture Therapies

The practice of acupuncture and moxibustion is based on the theory of meridians. According to this theory, qi (vital energy) and blood circulates in the body through a system of channels called meridians, connecting internal organs with external organs or tissues. By stimulating certain points of the body surface reached by meridians through needling or moxibustion, the flow of qi and blood can be regulated and diseases are thus treated. These stimulation points are called acupuncture points, or acupoints.

An acupuncture session includes an assessment and usually lasts 45 minutes.
The assessment involves questions related to your condition, tongue, (visual inspection) and radial pulse diagnosis. The questions combined with the tongue and pulse are used to design a treatment plan specific to your needs. Very fine and thin needles are inserted into the prescription acupoints. After insertion the patient may experience a feeling of soreness, heaviness, numbness and distention. Needles are left in for 20 minutes or longer depending on the condition.

The treatment plan or prescription is the set of acupoints to be used and may include any of the following:

Acutonics ~ Tuning forks (sound therapy). Sound therapy is the placement of calibrated tuning forks on specific points. Vibrations created by the forks resonate deep into the body & help open the energy pathways by moving through blockages not easily accessed.

Aromatic Point Application ~ An essential oil penetrates the skin through the pores, enters the bloodstream, and circulates throughout the body bringing its own distinct nourishment to the tissues, organs, nerves and cells of the body. Since oils carry their own intelligence they go directly to the spot where they can be most effective for healing. When used with a needle it is referred to as medicated needle acupuncture in Ayurveda.
